Why is it important to cancel
trips if I don't need them? |
| Pike County Transit has been
experiencing increased ridership each year, and if you
schedule a trip that you don’t need, you are taking away the
ability of someone else to use the system. Remember to be
considerate of everyone, if you do not need the trip just call
us and cancel. This will allow us to use the seat for someone
else needing transit. You may cancel your trip any time, up to
two hours before the trip is scheduled. For early morning
trips, call the office at 6:30 a.m. and we will cancel the
trip for you even if it is less than 2 hours to your pickup time.

|
Can I ride the wheelchair ramp if
I have problems stepping onto the bus? |
| The Americans with Disabilities Act
of 1992 mandates that for whatever reason, if a rider cannot
use the steps into the vehicle, the wheelchair lift may be
provided as a means to board the bus. Each lift has support
handles that you can use. However, under no circumstances can
a driver or passenger assistance helper ride the wheelchair lift with you.

|
Can I schedule rides for other
people? |
| It is best if you let
other people in your party call and schedule their own trip.
An exception to this procedure would be when there are
multiple riders from the same pickup location, going to the
same destination. Then we would only need to know the names of
the riders, and how the trip who the trip would be paid for.
